CAPRICE GOLD, ISTANBUL
Red has been appointed to carry out the full design of the MEP services for this new build 140,000m2 €225m hotel. The building rises 16 storeys above ground and also has the challenge of designing the luxury 5-star services within nine storeys of basement levels.

Hilton Freetown Cape Sierra Hotel, Sierra Leone
Red is delighted to have recently been appointed by IDEA (UK) Ltd, for the Hilton Freetown Cape Sierra Hotel project in Sierra Leone, WestAfrica, to provide detailed MEP services design for this upscale hotel which will have a unique Sierra Leonean identity and be sustainable in social, environmental and economic terms. Located in Aberdeen, on the northern tip of the western peninsula, Hilton Freetown Cape Sierra will have 200 rooms, including 60 executive standard rooms and 20 suites and feature a business centre, health club, outdoor pool and five restaurants and bars and is due to open in 2014. The site benefits from 250m of ocean frontage and excellent views across Lumley Beach, the Atlantic and across the coastline toward Freetown.
The hotel is Red’s fourth project in Africa as it aims to secure further appointments in the continent.
10 TRINITY PROJECT
Red has been appointed to carry out M&E design and monitoring for the 10 Trinity Square project, the planning application for which has just been submitted. 10 Trinity Square is the former Port of London Authority HQ in the heart of the City of London, which has been bought by Singapore investment and property company KOP and Beijing-based international investment house Reignwood Group. The refurbishment and redevelopment project is being carried out by their joint venture, Bullet Investments Ltd, and will see the heritage building transformed into a luxury hotel, spa, private residences and club, due for completion in 2014.
OCEAN VILLAGE HOTEL, SOUTHAMPTON
New build luxury 225 key 15-storey hotel which will be the first seawater-cooled hotel in the UK. The combination of free seawater cooling for a significant amount of the year and a patent-pending guestroom cooling system (finalist – Innovation of the Year, 2007 Building Services Awards) will result in 75% energy savings compared to a traditional cooling system.
YASMEEN ROTANA HOTEL, DAMASCUS
Full MEP, vertical transportation and audio-visual design for a 5-star 350-key hotel in Syria. The hotel comprises six levels of basement, full laundry, ballroom in a challenging high altitude climate.
CAPITAL CENTRE HOTEL, ABU DHABI
Red provided full electrical design for this hotel in the Capital Gate District, a new business hub surrounding the exhibition centre.
UPSCALE HOTEL & VILLAS, EASTERN LIBYA
Detailed design of a new build resort comprising 350 key resort hotel and 45 luxury villas
CONRAD ISTANBUL
Starting with a full services condition and compliance report on Turkey’s leading business hotel, the 590-bedroom Conrad, the project has developed into the replacement of the central heating and cooling installations and Red are currently delivering this project.
HILTON GARDEN INN LUTON
Red developed MEP concept designs and Employers Requirements and delivered the MEP Employer’s Agent role for Europe's first Hilton Garden Inn, which was runner up in the Sustainable Hotel category at the 2009 European Hotel design Awards.
HILTON ADDIS ABABA: COMPREHENSIVE REFURBISHMENT
Red have completed scheme design of the complete refurbishment of the M&E services of this 40-year old 400-key hotel on Ethiopia’s capital in a challenging very high altitude climate. The scheme proposes to move from using imported oil as an enegy source to using an underground geothermal aquifer and local hydroelectric power.
IHG MEP BRAND STANDARDS
The Intercontinetal Hotels Group, one of the world’s leading hoteliers, commissioned Red to write a new set of MEP standards for the EMEA markets for its five main brands (Intercontinental, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn, Staybridge Suites and Express by Holiday Inn) along with an illustrated guide to sustainable good design practice, aimed at engineers whose first language may not be English.
FIVE STAR LAHORE HOTEL DESIGN
Appointed by a prominent local developer and working with Seifert Architects, Red has developed an innovative design for this 550 bed hotel including a low carbon combined heat & power & absorption chiller solution for all electrical, domestic hot water, low grade heating & laundry needs throughout the 2 degC winter to 43 degC summer design cycle, in an area notorious for power outages.

HILTON KIEV HOTEL & APARTMENTS: FULL DESIGN SOLUTION
New detailed design for this 500 room hotel and apartments project
AQUUM DUBAI WATERFRONT
Full MEP and LEED design for these twin 42-storey luxury residential towers. Red created a dynamic thermal model to tackle the minimal energy requirement of the LEED energy and atmosphere credit. Sun path analysis was undertaken to investigate the impacts of surrounding buildings and feasibility of implementing photovoltaic and solar water heating systems to reduce the overall energy demand for the development and provide 2% of the total energy requirements from a renewable source.
