Devonshire Club, London

RED provided full engineering services design and monitoring services to convert an existing Grade II Listed office into this elegant hotel and private members club. Located in the heart of the City, the Devonshire Club spans two buildings and features 68 guestrooms, bars, lounges, a brasserie, gardens, a library and wellness centre.

The project, which commenced construction in March 2015 and was completed in July 2016, was part of a £25m renovation of the Devonshire Square site.

In order to reduce capital costs and resolve planning restrictions, RED negotiated the re-use of the landlord’s existing central energy plant and distribution network. RED paid careful attention to the coordination of services within the existing structure and worked closely with the architect SUSD to maximise floor to ceiling heights throughout the scheme.

Referred to as “truly luxurious, modern and genuinely unique” the Devonshire Club was acknowledged for its design through an array of awards including NAS Interior of the Year Award (2016 winner) NAS Leisure Award (2016 winner) and the Creative Sparks award at the TOPHOTELPROJECTS World Tour in London (2016 winner).
