Group Business Controller

London or Oxford

RED, a fast-growing group active in the Mechanical and Electrical engineering of data centre and complex buildings, is looking for a Group Business Controller to support the successful development of its worldwide activities, to be based in London or Oxford

Joining a dynamic team in a fast-expanding business, reporting to the CFO, the role foresees for the candidate to take over the responsibility of the business controlling function on a global basis.

Role Requirements

  • Leading the UK business analyst team, in charge of the financial management, administration and performance tracking of RED’s ongoing projects in Europe,
  • Overseeing and coordinate the business analyst function in overseas entities
  • Contributing and where applicable overseeing the financial reporting to RED and Engie Impact management, which includes
    • Contributing to the monthly closing and reporting process
    • Delivering key messages about the periodic evolution of financial indicators, based on results and variance analyses, if/when necessary proposing corrective actions to reach yearly objectives
  • Coordinating, with the support of the FP&A analyst the budgetary process, ensuring accurate projections of revenues, earnings and cash generation based on in depth analysis of historical performance, key market trends and competitive environment
  • Acting as a business partner to the organization, actively seeking and identifying potential opportunities to enhance the effective deployment of RED’s operations
  • Take an active part in the implementation of a new ERP (SAP4HANA) and satellite systems, more particularly with regards to project (financial) management

Skills and Specific Knowledge

  • 7-10 year’s professional experience in Finance and Controlling
  • Experience in a complex and international environment
  • Strong knowledge of (project) accounting, consolidation, financial statements analysis and IFRS standards,
  • Well-versed in office tools (in particular Excel) and have a strong affinity with ERP systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills both written and oral, able to summarize complex information into meaningful key messages
  • Able to prioritise own workload, committing on tight deadlines in a challenging environment


  • Master’s degree in Finance or similar
  • Experience in a similar position within either international consulting or construction sector
  • Working knowledge of financial reporting within a global corporate structure
