Congratulations to both Simon Young and Yimin Huang, who both successfully completed their Certified Data Centre Sustainability Professional (CDCSP®) Program from CNet training.

The CDCSP Program is designed to provide in-depth knowledge into the steps required to evaluate, analyse, plan, implement and monitor a sustainability strategy balanced with operational capability for data centre facilities. A certified CDCSP® also considers the requirements for compliance, having a full understanding of national and international regulations, codes and standards.

“It was great to see Simon and Yimin achieving the CDCSP Sustainable Data centre qualification, they join an elite number of currently 31 globally to obtain this accreditation! This is a great example of how RED staff are encouraged to select and complete sustainability focused training, broadening REDs understanding of the Sustainability world and how we can best advise our clients to deliver environmentally positive built solutions.

RED’s commitment to a growth mind set is reflected in our ongoing delivery of sustainability CPDs, Inductions, workshops and external presentations. At present RED have ongoing training and knowledge sharing sessions on IES, Part L, GLA, CIBSE, SAP, BREEAM, LEED, Climate Collage, Energy Management, Environmental Management, WELL alongside our BSRIA MEP training. At present we have approximately 20 Engineers going through our LEED GA training with a view to strengthening the delivery of LEED projects through a growth in ‘grass roots’ knowledge. Beyond this our staff continue to follow the traditional chartership roots (CIBSE, ImechE, IET) but we are also seeing more individuals follow sustainability linked routes such as IEMA.

Learning to see the world from as many perspectives as possible help us to break down the barriers surrounding problems which would otherwise be ‘intellectually landlocked’. Were we can, RED prefer to link training to real world engineering challenges and projects. We love to see training put to action! I look forward to seeing were Simon takes his new found wealth of knowledge!” Iain Macdougall
