RED's Chris Stokes completed Blenheim Triathlon, For a Cause

RED’s Chris Stokes completed the Blenheim Triathlon on Sunday 9 June in a time of 1 hour & 36 minutes, not bad for a first timer, but room for improvement next year!

Now in its ninth year, the Blenheim Triathlon is second biggest in the UK behind London with over 7000 competitors taking part, with elite athletes, and members of the GB/Olympic squad mixing it with the fundraisers and novices. This year’s race marked the first year of Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research’s title sponsorship.

Chris said “the hardest part really was the training, with months of very early starts in the freezing cold, rain sleet and snow. By far the hardest part of the race was the transitions i.e. getting your legs to work properly when you’ve just swam or got off the bike and need to get into running mode”

The event benefitted from efficient organisation from Blenheim Palace and Challenger World. A very worthy local event if anyone is interested in registering for next year - www.theblenheimtraithlon.com

Chris was raising funds for of Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research and has raised £715.00 so far. Anyone who hasn’t already done so, can still sponsor him via http://www.justgiving.com/Chris-Stokes66
