Alex graduated from the University of Southampton with a BEng in Electromechanical Engineering and an MSc in Management Science & Finance.
Since joining RED in 2009, Alex has worked on a variety of projects within the Data Centre Sector; from the design and implementation of critical infrastructure upgrades in a live environment through to management and design delivery for 100+MW Data Centre Campus’. Alex is a mechanical engineer with a wide range of experience in Data Centre cooling systems and the computational modelling of mission critical infrastructure. Alex is experienced in managing the project delivery for a range of clients; banking sector, co-location and hyperscale across several different geographic locations.
As Head of Engineering, globally for the RED business, Alex oversees RED’s Central Engineering Team. The Central Engineering Team is a centre for promoting quality, efficiency & knowledge sharing. Championing engineering excellence throughout the RED business. The aim is to harmonise RED’s engineering approach across the globe and improve quality and consistency throughout the business. As well as driving forward new initiatives and investment in research and development. This ensures Engineers at RED are versed in the latest technological advancements and are prepared with the right knowledge, skillset and toolkit to deliver value to our clients as well as maximising the efficiency in the production and delivery of our engineering services.
This has seen Alex working on various projects encompassing innovation and development with a strong focus on communication and collaboration with internal colleagues as well as with external interfaces. The role of the Central Engineering team is key to ensuring the high standard of technical content within the RED design deliverable is maintained.
