Matt Jahromi joins RED as Senior Energy Consultant

Matt is an energy specialist with substantial experience in both demand-side and supply-side energy programmes within the manufacturing industry. Matt will be based in RED’s London office. Prior to joining RED, Matt led the implementation of a Sustainable Energy programme on behalf of Unilever, a large multinational organisation, determined overall targets for sites in Europe and Africa, inspected factories and presented a series of energy-saving projects worth a total of €40 million and representing an annual carbon saving of 60,000 tonnes. Unilever has agreed that Matt will continue this work within RED.

Prior to this, Matt led the Combined Heat and Power programme for two multinational industrial clients in Europe, culminating in the installation of more than 70 MW of CHP plant at various industrial sites, in particular in the UK, Spain, Holland and Italy. Matt’s involvement ranged from feasibility through to plant procurement and supervision of installation and plant commissioning. Matt has also been involved in drawing up long-term energy supply contracts on behalf of industrial and public sector clients both in the UK and in Europe.

Matt has also managed numerous projects in the Renewable Energy sector, ranging from biogas CHP to large, industrial on-shore wind turbines, including the installation of a 4 MW multi-turbine plant at the Michelin Tyre factory in Dundee.
