RED supporting Hotel & Hospitality sector to develop sustainability goals
Leverage Singapore Green Building Masterplan (SGBMP) and apply for government grants now.
The recently launched Hotel Sustainability Roadmap by Singapore Hotel Association (SHA) and Singapore Tourism Board (STB) outlines clear targets and strategies for hotels to adopt in their sustainability journey. RED’s capabilities are aligned to support the sector in this transition in line with the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
RED has supported recognisable and innovative hotel brands as part of RED & ENGIE Impact’s long and rich history in the hospitality sector. We stay at the forefront of the market thanks to our ongoing relationships and frameworks.
RED Managing Director covering the APAC region, Marc Betz, explains that “through our specialist design concepts, RED has always been at the forefront of offering innovative solutions, assisting real estate developers and occupiers in achieving significant reductions in energy consumption and carbon emissions in both installation/construction and operation.
We continuously take lead roles in LEED/BREEAM/Green Mark/ActiveScore assessments, energy audits, sustainability/ESG performance reviews, embodied carbon, net zero interventions and all types of surveys in assessing energy efficiency and life cycle analysis. Our Total Resource Use and Efficiency (TRUE) certified zero waste advisors go beyond the design of a building to address the management of waste during the lifetime of the building. With its diverse range of sustainability expertise, RED, a company of ENGIE Impact, is best positioned to help the Singapore hospitality sector deliver their climate target and ambitions.”
The sector can now also leverage government grants to support their journey. BCA launched the Singapore Green Building Masterplan (SGBMP) with the target to make 80% of Singapore buildings green by 2030. To support the transition, BCA has launched the Green Mark Incentive Scheme for Existing Buildings (GMIS-EB), worth $63 million, to help building owners undertake retrofits and raise the sustainability standards of existing buildings. For commercial and institutional developments (such as hotels, offices, retail, healthcare facilities and community institutions), light industrial, and residential buildings, the funds can support individual projects with up to $1.2 million.
RED is a multi-award-winning Design Consultancy whose ambition is to be a key contributor towards the zero-carbon transition as part of an enterprise-wide transformation within ENGIE Impact. By bridging the gap between sustainability commitments and realized results that capture economic value and increase businesses' long-term competitiveness, ENGIE Impact enables organisations to incorporate sustainability into their operational strategy and practical projects.
