RED’s in-house team of industry specialists have a highly developed modelling and R&D ability. Our digital services and in-house technologies transform vast amounts of information into digital tools that offer a sustainable pathway for data-driven businesses.
RED's integrated team of engineers, designers and BIM co-ordinators bring true digitalisation of the design process together for project delivery. Innovative use of automation for repetitive tasks through customised coded applications and linked processes that help identify the effects of design decisions immediately. We have direct involvement in helping to shape the future of the industry through CIBSE and the Society of Digital Engineering.
Complex airflow, temperature and pressure distribution is modelled using leading CFD software in the data centre industry, 6SigmaDCX, in line with industry best practice.
Our experience encompasses a wide variety of projects ranging from data centre whitespace analysis to external plant study and electrical room, data hall survey and expansion planning.
RED completes electrical modelling of low carbon generation schemes. Export to the grid is enabled by satisfying technical requirements of the utility connection agreement requirements. Electrical modelling is also undertaken on HV and LV distribution systems to assess performance and perform diagnostics.
RED has developed a bespoke web-based app "assuRED" that provides climate and efficiency metrics for data centres across different locations and design configurations.
This expertise is coupled with costs and economic analysis to enable life-cycle costing that includes not only energy and water costs, but also maintenance and expected equipment life-span.
BRIZA is an online based app, developed entirely in-house at RED, which has been built to model any data centre facility and its corresponding steady state air, water and power flows, thereby providing full energy and water utilisation and efficiency data throughout the engineering infrastructure. It has been developed as an innovative way to quickly determine energy and water efficiency including PUE/WUE values and to engage with clients, providing an effective method of communicating design ideas and promoting discussion around data centre design solutions and efficiency.
RED specialists take advantage of most advanced modellings like Digital Twin and AI to uncover new resilient strategies, that not only help to shape the built environment but also reduce project environmental footprint.
RED uses dynamic thermal simulation tools to predict carbon emissions and analyse the effectiveness of carbon reduction initiatives. Realistic and cost-effective solutions are developed to assist our clients to meet their statutory obligations and CSR objectives. The software uses real weather data and occupancy and internal heat gain profiles to predict thermal loads and energy and daylight performance .
Point Cloud surveys are used to establish the exact dimensions of existing architecture, structure and services. This helps form the basis of our Revit Model. RED uses Point Cloud Surveys to recreate Revit models of existing facilities.
