Commissioning Management
RED provides a comprehensive commissioning management service to ensure all MEP systems are installed, tested, and commissioned in line with the design intent and client requirements. Our services include technical reviews, factory acceptance testing, documentation production and approval, QA/QC inspections, witnessing, and the management of Functional Performance Testing and Integrated Systems Testing. This ensures all systems meet operational, safety, and performance requirements.
CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT
RED provides construction support services across a broad range of projects throughout the UK. Our services include reviewing main contractor design information, attending site during construction phases, and carrying out quality and compliance inspections across all MEP systems. We also oversee and witness MEP testing and commissioning activities, ensuring all systems meet required performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
Buildings & Logistics MEP Design
RED Building & Logistics takes a detail-driven approach to the design of MEP systems, delivering projects with care and precision. We create bespoke solutions for individual clients while also meeting the technical, regulatory, and brand-led requirements of experienced developers. As a trusted design partner, we collaborate with retailers, developers, and occupiers on facilities ranging from highly automated distribution centres to temperature-controlled environments. We also design the supporting infrastructure required for the electrification of delivery fleets.
MEP Project Management
RED manages MEP and construction interfaces and integration across the full project lifecycle. Our processes promote seamless collaboration between the client, professional team, and contractors. We align construction sequencing with MEP systems to support efficient installation, testing, and commissioning — ensuring timely handover while maintaining quality and programme certainty.
CDM Principal Designer Services
RED has a dedicated CDM team providing Principal Designer and CDM advisory services. Our Principal Designer services are delivered by a team with extensive project and design management expertise, taking a practical, hands-on approach to CDM management.
Validation Services
RED has experienced in-house M&E commissioning managers and extensive experience validating MEP systems using both non-intrusive and intrusive methods. Our services include condition surveys of MEP installations, measurement and recording of flow rates on ventilation and closed water systems to assess performance, and water sampling to analyse quality and identify any required remedial actions. All work is supported by detailed technical reports.
Technical Authoring
RED manages the production and delivery of O&M manuals, ensuring all MEP systems are fully documented, reviewed, and compliant with project requirements. We coordinate with main contractors and their supply chain to compile comprehensive documentation, providing complete manuals for handover and maintenance teams.
Technical Due Diligence
RED provides technical due diligence services across a range of sectors. Our work typically involves structured assessments of building assets to determine whether they are technically sound, compliant, and feasible. This includes reviewing design information, examining operation and maintenance manuals and records, ensuring compliance with current regulations, and conducting physical condition surveys of the assets.
Efficient Building Systems Design
RED provided full MEP design consultancy for a 52,000m² Regional Distribution Centre in the West of England, including cold rooms, freezer compartments, racking areas, and a two-storey admin block. The design reuses refrigeration waste heat for underfloor heating, supports anti-condensation ventilation, and integrates a 3MVA generator for seamless standby power.
