Maira Bana

Head of Computational Engineering

Maira leads RED's computational engineering capability, using digital tools and advanced simulation platforms to analyse complex and critical interactions within power systems, cooling systems and the microclimates around infrastructure.

Her work enables engineers to understand how systems will behave under different conditions, interrogate complex interactions and identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience and efficiency before they are encountered in the real world. As data centres become larger, denser and more demanding, this depth of analysis is increasingly important to making informed engineering decisions.

Through The Centr, Maira explores how computational engineering can help tackle some of the industry's most complex challenges, from power and cooling performance to resilience, environmental conditions and the implications of increasing compute density. Her perspective also extends to the skills and diversity of thinking the industry will need as engineering becomes increasingly sophisticated and multidisciplinary.
