Why STEM Matters at RED
RED is powered by a diverse team of highly skilled professionals, each bringing unique backgrounds and inspiring journeys to their roles. The paths that lead our people here are as varied and fascinating as the individuals themselves.
As a leading engineering design consultancy, our future depends on nurturing the next generation of engineers. We are dedicated to investing time and resources to spark passion and increase awareness of the opportunities within our industry.
RED is passionately committed to nurturing and inspiring the next generation of young engineers. With a significant skills shortage looming in our industry, it’s more important than ever to encourage young people to explore the exciting possibilities that a career in engineering offers.
While Science, Technology, and Maths receive strong attention in primary and secondary education, engineering often remains overlooked and underrepresented. Our mission is to shine a spotlight on all aspects of engineering careers and showcase the profound impact engineers have on shaping the world around us.
Through school visits, community events, and hosting students at our offices, the RED STEM team actively engages with a diverse range of students aged 5 to 18, igniting curiosity and passion for engineering at every stage of their education.

With 25 UK STEM ambassadors and a further 20 team members globally, we reached nearly 8000 students in 2024. Some of those students weren’t aware of the variety of roles that come under the umbrella of engineering, but are now considering it as a career.”Diana Kenny Mechanical Engineer & Global STEM Coordinator
