RED Engineering Design is delighted to announce that One Southwark Bridge Road (LC03) project has been certified BREEAM Outstanding, recognising the exemplary approach to sustainability, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.
What is BREEAM?
Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is the world-leading sustainability assessment method for buildings and infrastructure. It measures environmental, social, and economic sustainability performance, encouraging design and construction that supports a low-carbon, resilient future.

How did RED achieve this?
With the commitment of Structure Tone and WPP, the project’s environmental success was driven by RED’s dedicated sustainability certification team. Led by Alexandra Vella, Technical Director and Head of Certification, and Amelia Cunnane, Senior Sustainability Engineer, the team combined deep expertise with a collaborative approach to exceed industry standards and help the team achieve BREEAM Outstanding certification.
For the One Southwark Bridge Road (LC03) project, RED’s approach helped deliver:
"We’re incredibly proud that One Southwark Bridge Road has achieved BREEAM Outstanding. It’s been a pleasure working with the team to deliver a project that achieves so much in terms of sustainability, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. This recognition reflects the dedication and expertise of the team." Alexandra Vella, Technical Director, RED Engineering Design
This accreditation underscores RED Engineering Design’s commitment to reducing carbon emissions across the built environment and highlights its continued focus on innovation, collaboration, and delivering resilient, environmentally responsible buildings.
