For #NationalEngineeringDay in the UK, we're celebrating the engineers across RED who design the Data Centres and critical buildings that power global connectivity and drive sustainable innovation.
As a UK-founded business that has grown to 19 locations worldwide, we're proud to recognise the vital role engineering plays in everyday life. It's an opportunity to shine a spotlight on the expertise, creativity and problem-solving of the people behind it, whose work helps shape the world around us.
This year's campaign marks the Royal Academy of Engineering's 50th anniversary, looking ahead to 2076 and exploring how engineering could shape the future, while highlighting the importance of inspiring the engineers of tomorrow.
Hear from senior members of RED including Lee Prescott, Chief Technology Officer, Phil Reid, Head of Energy, Iain MacDougall, Head of Sustainability, Mohammad Royapoor, Head of R&D, Mike Coe, Director of RED Spain, and Emily Stagg, Senior Mechanical Engineer, as they reflect on what inspired them to enter the industry, where their careers have taken them, and the opportunities it can offer the next generation.
Inspiring the Engineers of Tomorrow
This year's campaign is focused on inspiring the next generation of engineers who will help shape the world of 2076 and beyond. As our industry continues to evolve to meet future challenges around digital infrastructure, energy and sustainability, attracting and developing new talent has never been more important.
At RED, our STEM initiative is dedicated to fostering a more inclusive, diverse and accessible industry by inspiring young people to engage with STEM subjects and explore careers in engineering. Through activities with schools, universities and local communities, we raise awareness of engineering careers, share real-world experiences and showcase the opportunities available across the industry.
This year, we’ve engaged more than 14,000 students, young people, parents and teachers so far, and we're helping develop the skills, innovation and diverse perspectives that will shape the future of engineering and inspire the world of 2076 and beyond.
