Digiplex Stockholm

RED provided MEP consultancy services to DigiPlex for this conversion project to create one of Sweden’s greenest and safest colocation data centres. The site is located in Upplands Vasby, between Stockholm city and Arlanda airport.  Indirect Evaporative  Cooling was the technology employed on this project with the equipment being located externally on a purpose made gantries.

The data centre is split into seven phases creating seven separate data halls. The first phase provided  800kW of IT and was completed end of 2015.  The second phase provided 1500kW of IT load and was completed Q3 of 2016

The project comprised the conversion of part of a factory, to create one of Sweden’s greenest and safest colocation data centres. This site is located in Upplands Vasby, approximately 16 miles north of Stockholm between Stockholm City and Stockholm Arlanda International Airport. Digiplex have purchased part of an existing factory and associated site from Kraft. The majority of the site is retained by Kraft and shall continue in the production of confectionary.

The facility was designed in line with the Uptime Institute Tier III standards for a concurrently maintainable facility as outlined in the Tier Standard: Topology and Tier Standard: Operational Sustainability Documents, along with the recommendations outlined in TIA-942 along with best practice.
