RED has been appointed to provide MEP consultancy services for this major mixed use development which includes the conversion and extension of an existing office building into a 340 key hotel, construction of new 300,000ft2 office building and a residential development containing 87 private luxury apartments.
Combined services and energy centre were used to save plant space and capital costs resulting in a highly energy efficient solution resolving complex Part L requirements. Individual buildings were designed to provide flexible energy efficient services to maximise the value of the development.
- Unitised curtain walling construction with demountable extruded fins façade design limits solar gains of the 20,000 m² office building to aim to maximise CO₂ emission reduction
- RED mandated as Code for Sustainable Home assessor for the residential element of the 87 dwellings project involving daylighting calculations to optimize windows sizes and to achieve the best energy performance whilst enhancing natural lighting in the living zones
