New Boys Boarding House, Stowe School

The New Boys Boarding House project comprised of the construction of a new build boarding house to provide accommodation for 60 students together with three accommodation units for staff. The building was constructed over three levels providing study rooms with ensuite shower room, break out spaces, a common room, external terraces together with dirty kit/drying room, laundry, cleaners’ rooms and plant room.

The design delivered a low energy, low maintenance solution using underfloor heating served from district heating system, heat recovery systems to recover heat from ensuite shower rooms and LED low energy lighting throughout the building.

Low energy lighting was provided through out with desk, wall and ceiling mounted luminaire provided to enable student to select their preferred lighting level. A structured cabling system was provided to enable student to connect to the schools LAN network.
